Two segments seem to suit particularly well to the personal banking: the"Elites" and the "Balanced profiles". We can find different age groups within them:

In the elite segment, all age from 35 years old are interesting for us, although the most beneficial in the long term seems to be the 49 to 60 years old, because of their current available capital, the fact that our relationship with them will very likely last long and also because they are the most likely to receive a sustantial inheritance. Our focus will therefore be on the latter, while leaving an open door for the 35-49, which represent an opportunity for personal banking as they their parents are also likely to prepare to transfer their heritage or even take a step forward and make donation prior the inheritance itself. The elites represent 13% of the Belgian population. Of these, 37% between 49 and 60 year old. If this population is adjusted according to the available capital, we reach a total of 3.8% of the total population (425,600 people). They are undoubtedly the most profitable segment for the personal banking of Nagelmackers.

Now regarding the « balanced profiles » segment, our focus will be on the 49+, since the lower tranches are not able to provide enough capital. The balanced profile corresponds to 27% of the Belgian population. Adjusted with age (38%), this segment represents 10% of the Belgian population. If we finally crosses this population for those with sufficient capital, we end up with 6% of the Belgian population, or 672,000 people.

The choice of these segments and age groups is strongly influenced by the preference, generally for the 49+, to have a personal contact with their advisor.
